Squid, star dish in 14 restaurants in Salou

Restaurateurs who participated in this edition

Salou. Costa Dorada. 25 November 2022.
A total of fourteen restaurants in Salou, two more than last year, are participating in a new edition of the Calamar Gastronomic Days. Most of these restaurants have prepared a menu with squid as the star product, but in some cases the preparations are tapas or specific dishes in terms of presentation. The conference will be held from November 25 to December 11, 2022.

The participating restaurants are:

- Asador Córcega Restaurant
- Bufacaldos Restaurant
- Carbonic Restaurant
- Casa Soler
- Cook and Travel
- Deliranto
- Huma
- La Taberna del Áncora
- Malapecora by Bandarra
- Mesón Pa i Oli
- MRKT de Edu Cuesta Gastrobar
- Restaurant O Mar
- Sushi Kai Salou
- Taverna El Totxo

With regard to prices, they range from 6, 7, or 10 euros in the case of tasting dishes to 22.50 euros for complete menus, which in other cases goes to an average price of between 32 to 50 euros to finish with a tasting menu dedicated to Salou squid for a price of 120 euros.

You can consult the specific offer of the participating restaurants in the document you will find at the end of this information.

In relation to these days, which are preceded by the squid fishing competition, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has emphasized that with these two calls 'we show our historical roots from a local, traditional and very characteristic of Salou'.

The presentation of the days was carried out by Granados, the councilor for Economic Promotion, Hèctor Maiquez and the chef and president of the Salou Hospitality Business Association, Pep Moreno.

The chef, who has renewed the Michelin Star, emphasized that this year two more establishments are participating in the conference than in the 2021 edition and that squid is a very versatile product that allows for many preparations and presentations.

Moreno has thanked his fellow professionals for participating in the jonades, which contribute to deseasonalizing the tourist season and attracting local tourism.

For his part, the councilor Hèctor Maiquez considers that with these days the gastronomic calendar for this 2022 has been fulfilled, a calendar that started with the presentation of the gastronomic Salou in Barcelona and which culminates with this last action after having passed for different aspects of the restaurant, such as fusion, international and avant-garde cuisine; and, on this occasion, with a more traditional kitchen background.

Salou has been working for years to position itself as a gastronomic reference and more so considering that visitors to the capital of the Costa Daurada place gastronomy as one of the preferred motivations for visiting this tourist destination where many and varied styles are represented cuisine for all tastes and budgets.
