Tourist train of Salou

Salou tourist train


A different way to discover Salou and its main attractions is the tourist train. With a single circular route and 14 stalls can discover the most beautiful and emblematic as the beaches and Cape Salou, buildings and history of the capital of the Costa Dorada as the tower, the lighthouse of Salou (1858), Carrilet station (1887) or the church of Santa Maria del Mar (XVIII century). In addition, the train reaches PortAventura World.

The tour can start at any of the stops marked with red color totem, and it can make all the back up to the stop where it has gone.

Another option is to buy a ticket 24 hours 'Ticket Hop on - Hop off', which allows travelers to get on and off the train as many times as you want for 24 hours from the first time the train goes.

Another option is to purchase the family ticket valid for two adults and two children aged 4 years, as younger children are not necessarily but have to travel on foot.

According to these types of tickets, prices of Salou train for 2016 are:
  • Only one round trip of about two hours:
Adults (+13 years to 64 years): 4 euros
Children (4 to 12): EUR 2.5
Senior (+65 years): EUR 2.5
People with disabilities (+ 33%, presenting certificate): EUR 1.5
  • Tickets 24 hours 'Ticket Hop on - Hop off':
Adults (+13 years to 64 years): 7 euros
Children (4 to 12): 4 euros
Senior (+65 years): 4 euros
People with disabilities (+ 33%, presenting certificate): 3 euros
  • Family ticket (2 adults and 2 children): 10 euros
  • Family ticket 24 hours ticket Hop on - Hop off ': 20 euros
The Ticket "Hop on - Hop off" can not be bought from the 5th October.
All tickets can be purchased directly on the tourist train.


The Salou Touristic train modifying their schedules depending on the time of year. From March 21 to June 5, 2016 the first train starts running at 9:30 am and ends shortly before 22 am. In addition, the train only runs in the morning from October 31 until November 24, the last day it works until the next season.

A spectacular tour

The route of the Salou tourist train is the first stop in Europe Square, nerve center of the target. From here, the train heads to Pylons -work Roselló- Antoni, a symbol of the city and a tribute to fishermen in Salou. This point marks the beginning of the Camino de Ronda, to Replanells, where you will find the second stop of the trip.

Hence Trenet began the journey to Cape Salou, through the Penya Tallada and Faro Salou. From Punta de Cavall out-the more pronounced the coast of Salou- you can admire spectacular views of the coast. Another stop to the lighthouse of Salou, with its spectacular mirador-, construction illuminated boaters along the Costa Dorada since 1858. From here, the climb to Cala crabs train, where can make the construction of Triangles, the architect Antonio Bonet Castellana.

Then the route now heads towards the town of Salou, reaching the Masia Catalana, a typical Catalan farmhouse, a building originally designed in 1974 and now houses, among others, the crafts market within months summer. On the shore, there is the City Park, a natural area. Subsequently, the next stop reaches PortAventura World.

The tourist train allows you to discover Salou, the next stop, the Torre Vella, one of the iconic buildings of the capital of the Costa Dorada and, today, hosts temporary exhibitions. Nearby, there is the narrow gauge railway station El Carrilet, built in 1887 to welcome the first tourists who arrived in Salou from Reus.

In the last part of the train journey, we discover the port, over the side of the church of Santa Maria del Mar, which dates from the eighteenth century. On the shore, the Capitania (1820), one of the main buildings of the Port of Salou. Finally, as the main artery of the city, admiring the monument Fisherman -work of Ramon Ferran- and ornamental fountains, a real spectacle of water, light and color. And as a final stop, Jaume I monument, a tribute to the monarch Catalan sailed to Salou from the thirteenth century to the conquest of Mallorca.
