The Michelin Star Deliranto enters the Repsol Guide

Pep Moreno, chef of Deliranto de Salou, with the Sun Repsol Guide

Salou. Costa Dorada. 03 March 2022. Salou chef Pep Moreno, from the Deliranto restaurant, which already has a Michelin Star, continues to accumulate success after receiving a Sun from the Repsol Guide 2022. Deliranto is one of the 11 Catalan restaurants that have entered the Repsol Guide this year, of which 4 are from Tarragona.

Pep Moreno, who is also president of the Associació d'Empresaris d'Hostaleria (AEH) of Salou, has shown his satisfaction and enthusiasm for this distinction, and has pointed out that "it is a recognition of our effort and trajectory, above all, after the two very difficult years that we have passed. It is a distinction for a job well done and for the team that, every day, carries out the experience that we want customers to enjoy at Deliranto", he assured.

It should be noted that Deliranto's cuisine is inspired by great classics of children's and youth literature such as Lewis Carroll or Charles Dickens, to create a very personal gastronomic world, determined to make cooking enjoyed with the intensity with which children enjoy everything that they like the most.

El Deliranto is one of the 11 new establishments included in the guide in Catalonia (83 in all of Spain), a territory that has a total of 99 award-winning restaurants. In the Repsol Guide 2022, only four from the province of Tarragona have been awarded: two establishments in Tarragona city, the AQ and El Terrat; the 'Delirium, from Salou, and L'Antic Molí, from Ulldecona. In total, there are already 666 restaurants that are part of the Repsol Guide Suns, whose objective is to discover and value talent in the kitchen.

The Repsol Guide Suns, which this year have the motto 'The main course arrives', are the qualifications that identify chefs with Suns. A team of experts travels the national territory to verify the best places to live a great gastronomic experience. Thus, each year, new chefs with Repsol Guide Suns are chosen, who become part of the Guide. This is an action organized by the Repsol Guide and the Department of Tourism, Commerce and Consumption of the Basque Country.

Pep Moreno received the Sun at a gala held at the Victoria Eugenia Theater in Donostia-San Sebastián, presented by the actor and comedian from Tarragona, Carlos Latre, and which was attended by chefs and personalities from the gastronomic world.

Upon hearing the news, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, congratulated chef Pep Moreno for his great achievement, and highlighted the importance that these distinctions also have for Salou, which is working tenaciously to establish itself as a gastronomic benchmark in the Gold Coast.

For his part, the Councilor for Economic Dynamization, Hèctor Maiquez, has highly valued the fact that a chef from Salou has received the award, and has stated that it is a source of pride for Salou.
