Cambrils celebrates the Festival of the Immaculate with the procession and commemoration

The Festival of the Immaculate of Cambrils returns from 30th November to 15th December with popular and traditional events such as the procession and commemoration of the Siege of 1640. The program opens on Saturday 30th with the delivery of Vila Cambrils Awards on Photography and Poetry, which will take place at 6pm in the Plenary Hall .

Festival Day : December 8th

On December 8th , the great day of the feast , High Mass is celebrated with performances by the Coral Verge del Cami , at the Parish Church of St Maria and the procession of the Immaculate Conception, with the participation of the Colla Gegantera Tota l' Endenga, the Valencians Ball and the Sticks Ball, accompanied by Cobla Antiga Espremulls.

The Day of the Festival gets this year the casteller of Xiquets Cambrils who arrive at the procession, and will put back the plaque on the facade of the Church of Santa Maria, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the first performance in the square . The group, which has been re- launched this October with the intention to normalize the activity over the next year , made ​​public a pillar of four, the same castle erected in 1993.

The day will end with a concert (6pm)and dance (7pm) by the Cimarron Orchestra at the Palacio Municipal de Deportes.

The commemoration of the Siedge, one of the bloodiest pages of history of Cambrils is one of the biggest events of the Winter Festival . On 1st December at 11.45 am the authorities accompany the festive procession and will go to Square Espanya where the fireworks after the official ceremony will take place , by the Minister of the Presidency, Francesc Homs. The finale will be dancing of the Gegants the Siedge ( the Marqués de los Vélez and Cabo Quiñones) of the Colla Gegantera Tota l' Endenga and the Sticks Ball.


Moreover, as new this year , there is the dixie concert with the Dixie Band Musicians Workshop on Friday, 6th December at the passeig Albert, and giant games for the whole family that are also installed in the passeig Albert will be held the next day, Saturday December 7th, from 11 to 2pm.

Like every year, the program of events includes the official lighting of the Christmas lights with the Children's Choir of the Municipal School of Music in Cambrils , theater performances , activities for the TV3 Marathon , delivering honors and awards , books and CDs , storytelling, exhibitions, concerts, football tournament and the Cros Cambrils , open workshops and the Christmas market , among other acts.
