Fundación Repsol develops its energy workshops in Tarragona. From November 5 to 16, more than 800 students from 6th grade and 3º from ESO participate. Through this playful and educational initiative, children and young people know more in depth the different sources of energy and become aware of the challenges for the future and the need to make responsible use of energy resources.
The Tarragona schools once again host the Aprendenergía workshops, a Fundación Repsol project that was born with the aim of bringing the world of energy closer to the youngest.
Through the game "The great challenge of the energy mix", students acquire different roles, and through debate, they must ensure the supply of energy in different circumstances, with the aim of achieving a more sustainable city.
To meet their challenge, participants can use different primary energy sources, but they must take into account the availability of resources and CO2 emissions.
With this game, boys and girls know the different sources of energy, approach the transformation processes and understand the value and importance of different energies. At all times they are accompanied by specialized educators, who help them by solving all their doubts.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to participate in the "Gymkhana of energy", in which they must pass fun tests, adapted to different ages, to show their skills and knowledge about energy and sustainability.
In addition to Tarragona, in the 2018-2019 academic year these activities have already been developed in Muskiz and will take place in Cartagena, Madrid, Puertollano and A Coruña.
These workshops are part of the Aprendenergía program of Fundación Repsol, aimed at disclosing among the youngest subjects about energy and its future challenges to achieve a more sustainable world.
