As the consistory advanced last November, a set of devices has been installed on Llevant Beach in Salou to carry out calisthenics exercises, which already equip other parts of the municipality's coastline. The group of elements that allow to carry out this outdoor sports modality has cost 9,637.65 euros. This physical discipline focuses interest on the movements of muscle groups, rather than power and effort. The word comes from the Greek Kallos (beauty) and sthenos (strength). The goal is the acquisition of grace and beauty in the exercise. The Councilor for Beaches, Julia Gomez, explained that "from the council we wanted to install these sports games so that young people in the municipality can practice this discipline, as it is a growing sport among the group." Gómez added that "the incorporation of these elements in the beach of Llevant, as well as those also placed along the coast, allow the practice of this discipline without having to leave the municipality."
The company Equidesa Group SL has been responsible for the installation of these 8 devices that have been placed aligned in the sand next to the jetty of the moll and without impeding the passage of people, replacing the current ones that have moved to the beach Llarga and that complement the current group. Between the apparatuses they are a bank of abs; a triple push-up bar; a structure composed of 7 vertical columns, 4 crossbars, 1 pullup hummer bar and 1 Swedish wall; in addition to another structure composed of 2 parallel bars with a length of 180 cm and a distance between bars of 50 cm, placed at 50 cm in height; two parallel bar structures and a double bar abs composed of 3 vertical columns and 2 crossbars.
As explained by the councilor of beaches this new lot is added to those that have already been mounted along the coast to improve the supply of sports tourism and offer a combination of walking area, space for running and lovers of bars ; as well as to add new 'healthy' points in the Parc de la Ciutat and in the Salou Ponent Pavilion.
