Salou validates the flags of the Q system of quality on the beaches of Llevant and Ponent

Salou. Costa Dorada. 5th June 2012. The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, collected from the hands of the Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, D. Jose Manuel Soria, and the President of ICTE (Institute for Tourism Quality Spanish), Miguel Miron and the secretary of State for Tourism, Elizabeth Borrego flags quality system Q of Tourist Quality for the beaches of Levante and Poniente in Salou.    These beaches already received quality certification during the course of the fair FITUR last January when then the Councillor for Tourism, Benet Presas, received the diploma. The flags show that these two beaches of Salou meet quality standards established by the UNE 187001 and 188004, respectively, after having passed the relevant audits and, in fact, Salou is the only municipality in the province which has two beaches 'Q'. These standards certify compliance requirements related to equipment, cleaning, security, and rescue information, among others and will be valid throughout the year.   The mayor said that "only by way of quality, excellence and seeking positive difference in our town to maintain and improve our position in the increasingly competitive tourist market."Today, during a meeting in the auditorium of the Ministry in Madrid municipalities collected the awards winners. A total of 81 councils, representing nine regions, have collected the badge that proves that twelve 174 beaches and marinas in compliance, including 20 beaches of Catalonia are worthy of Q. The Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality, is the body responsible for granting the Flag "Q", being a private entity created in 2000 specifically certified for quality development in the tourism industry, its members are the organizations most important tourist country. It also has the participation of the Secretary of State for Tourism, the regions and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
