Salou makes the first International Work Camp


Salou. Costa Dorada. This 2010 traditional fieldwork in Salou provides a giant step to becoming International for the first time in its history. After eight editions of joint collaboration between the Youth Group and the City Council of Salou, this year faced a new challenge with elderly participants from all over the world who made a school of archeology Iberian Salou : La Punta de la cella.   In addition, this year, the project has the advice and collaboration of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, with a team of archaeologists who monitor and guide the project and other parallel activities related to the archaeological visits, talks, etc.. The collaboration of the University goes beyond the field itself, marking guidelines and following a plan that aims to restore the site and highlighted an important part of the town's historical heritage.   From 19 July to 1 August, young participants can enjoy the culture of the municipality while collaborating in the conservation of their heritage. The tasks will be complemented with other activities such as workshops, excursions, concerts, etc.. The twenty young people who form part of the field work came from various parts of the country such as Russia, Serbia, Korea, Lithuania, Britain, France, Germany, among others. Fieldwork has always been the goal of combining training with leisure and leisure participation, which has already led to over 300 youth of the Catalan territory to discover the charms of Salou and its culture. Year, and thanks to the collaboration of the Youth Department of Tarragona has been possible to achieve the challenge of turning the International Work Camp, expanding culture salouenca worldwide and offering the young an excellent framework for coexistence and training.
