The National Youth Orchestra of Catalunya in Salou act for the sixth consecutive year



Salou. Costa Dorada. The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Salou has organized on 28 December to 4 January the 45th Meeting of the Jonc. This morning the mayor of Salou, Pedro Granados, has signed an agreement with the manager of the JONC, Anthony Pall. The event was also attended by the Councilor of Culture and Events, Isabel Aguilera, the Director invited to this meeting, Mr. Antoni Ros-Marbà and Artistic Director of the JONC Mr. Manel Valdivieso. The National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia is to make its sixth consecutive year Christmas meeting in the town of Salou. This time under the baton of one of the most internationally renowned directors Catalans, the master Antoni Ros marble, facing some very difficult works such as "Pastoral Symphony" of L. Van. Beethoven and "The Italian F. Mendelssohn. More than 120 members of the orchestras of the JONC are between 14 and 24 years old and come from different points of the Catalan countryside. These young musicians gather at the school vacation periods for the symphonic repertory work that you put into practice in various concerts at the end of each meeting. To help youth prepare this repertory during the days before the concert there will be a team of professors from several Spanish and European orchestras, like the Royal Filharmonia de Galicia, the Symphony Orchestra of Granada, the Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu or Konzerthausorchester Berlin. The Councilor of Culture and Events, Isabel Aguilera, explained: "It's a great honor to have these kids playing for the sixth consecutive year in our town and hope that we see playing for many years." In addition Aguilera added: "It is a touching spectacle to see these young performers." On January 3, at 19pm the JONC give a concert at the Auditorium Theater will perform two works of Salou where very difficult Mendelssohn and Beethoven. Also on January 4 the JONC fry will offer all attendees an interpretation of the Symphony No. 35 in D Major.
