The Meteorological Service of Catalonia is organizing the first meeting in Reus of teh XOM



Reus. Costa Dorada. The director of Territorial Services of Environment and Housing in Tarragona, Josep Lluis Pau, and the director of the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, David Rodriguez, chair tomorrow Tuesday, November 10th, at 19 pm in the Center for Reading Reus The first meeting of the Regional Meteorological Observers Network (XOM) in the Tarragona region. This meeting to exchange experiences regarding the observation of meteorological phenomena. The last few weeks the meetings were conducted in the regions of Barcelona, Girona and Lleida with high attendance of observers in a climate very participatory. Throughout the meeting will examine the current status and future of the Network, will be presented observation and monitoring criteria to unify information provided by observers and, finally, Juan Maria Boronat, observer Valls, will explain the network meteorological stations of the Alt Camp. Boronat conducted its first observations in 1977, and ten years after the project began Meteorological Center Alt Camp, currently consisting of 24 observers performing measurements of temperature and precipitation through the stations termopluviométricas. Weather Observer Network On January 24 came into operation XOM, consisting of more than one hundred employees throughout the territory with the role of meteorological information needed to improve daily tasks performed by the SMC. The data provided by the observers are used to improve knowledge of daily weather and monitoring meteorological risk situations, and in future all data collected will serve to improve understanding of the climate in Catalonia. The SMC offers all of society, including the central government, the data from XOM, as the Government considers that the data obtained in Catalonia through the work of its citizens should be freely available to everyone.
