 The monastery of Scala Dei, founded in s. Twelfth is the reference point and missed the Priorat Qualified Denomination of Origin. The monks were decisively favor the cultivation of vines. DOQ Priorat is characterized by slopes of slate and its wines are a reflection of the harsh climatic conditions and unique terrain. The presence of the monks until mid-century XIX decisively favored the cultivation of vines and the quality of a product that now enjoys international prestige: the wines of the Priorat DOQ. The DOC is limited to wines of nine villages in the central part of the county, all of it very rugged terrain and steep. One of the villages covered in the DOQ Priorat Priorat is Bellmunt (can be reached by road from the local TP-7101 N-420 at the height of Falset), where there are several quality wineries. With a mining past shows over the remains of the activity which lasted centuries and scored quite the character. It is worth noting the Mining Museum, the Art Nouveau building from which administered the mines and where was the laboratory (House of Mines, 1905) and the mining district or Cologne. The Museum presents samples of minerals and mining related equipment and also can download a guide to the first gallery of the Eugenia Mine. It follows the road T-710 N toward and before 1 km, turn onto the T-711 to Torroja del Priorat. In Torroja del Priorat, it is based on Control Board DOQ Priorat. Contains interesting details of antiquity in its streets paved with river stones, and especially a Baroque organ in the parish of San Miguel which has been recently restored. At the Museum Cellar Joan Pamies, you can admire a private collection of wine presses and other old stuff and country. The road leads to Porrera TP-7403. Porrera is a coastal village surrounded by vineyards and hazelnuts (Grenache and Carignan), which now have established major wineries. They present old mansions, many of which hold ancient sundials, some of them of great interest, among which are the largest in Catalonia. Other sights are the Hermitage of San Antonio Abad (1610), the parish church, dating from XVIII, and the bridge over the river Cortiella. To reach Poboleda, follow the road heading No. TP-7402 to meet the C-242. It still left a half mile north to turn off after the T-702 again to the left. Winemaking. La Vilella Alta is a small village perched on a hill close to the Serra de Montsant (southern side). The parish church of Santa Lucia keeps an altarpiece of 1700. Oil mill district. The same road leads to T-702 Vilella Baixa. La Vilella Baixa. The village is very picturesque with steep streets and interesting corners of the street is "Do not Pass" clear evidence of medieval times. The medieval bridge over the river Montsant, with the backdrop of the towering houses so characteristic of the Vilella Baixa, is the view par excellence of this population. End of itinerary.
