Caseres is located west of Gandesa, just at the administrative boundary separating Catalonia Aragon. Waldo can be reached from the N-420 in 19 km. In the north-east are the Sierra Caseres Botja (Mudèfer hill, 526 m). In the east, the Sierra Pessells does it divide the waters discharged into the river and river Algars of Caneletes. Caseres belonged to the municipality of Horta de Sant Joan when, in 1153, the castle of Miravet, with its full term, was given by Ramon Berenguer IV, the Templars in gratitude for his fight against the Saracens. Later he was part of the Order of Horta, who later became the Hospitallers. From the village stands the church of Santa Magdalena. Built in the s. XIII, highlight the traditional rectangular nave Romanesque and Gothic apse of the portal arch. Within the term Caseres, not too far from town, are the core of Almudèfer where we still see the remains of the castle and church of Santa Anna. In the last century, the core of Almudèfer finally joined the municipality of Caseres. Almudèfer Castle, situated atop a hill beside the river Algars is now in ruins. Next we find a curious tank dug into the rock. The church of Santa Anna is at the foot of the castle, the original structure was in transition to Gothic Romance. To go to the mountain of the Iberian Gesso Caseres leave the village by the High Street to the intersection of the Carretera N-420. On the other side, the road that passes between the houses of the former leads us to the start village, situated on a hill (2 miles from exit). It is a small Iberian village that was excavated in the early s. XX. It is believed that was occupied until the Roman period. From here you can see a magnificent view of the river and Algars Calaceite. Then we went to the picnic area of the river Algars in the pools which, if low enough water, you will swim. Go down the street from the fountain and take a trail to the left, heading south, which runs along the river about 2 km, we arrive at the picnic area of the river Algars conditioned with grills, tables and benches.
