The clubs open on June 21 until 3:30 a.m.

The discos and music bars will open from June 21

Salou. Costa Dorada. 13 June 2021.
The question when the clubs open already has an answer. Finally, the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Federació Catalana d'Associacions d'Activitats de Restauració i Musicals (FECASARM) have reached an agreement to reopen nightclubs and music bars from June 21, just before San Juan. After the sector has insistently demanded that the administration be able to open doors, the evolution of the pandemic has made this agreement possible, which Fecarsam has described as “historic”.
For now, music bars and discos may open from June 21 under these conditions:
  • You can dance on the dance floor but with a mask and you will not need to keep safe distances
  • It cannot be consumed on the dance floor
  • The interior capacity will be 50% and in exterior spaces it will be 100%
  • The opening hours are until 3.30 in the morning with half an hour to vacate the establishments
The Civil Protection Plan of Catalonia (PROCICAT) must now validate the measures of the agreement, although FECARSAM would like the opening to be advanced before June 21. They also ask that the agreed conditions be reviewed every 15 days, as the pandemic situation evolves.
They also ask that companies that apply protocols with prior testing and QR codes can benefit from a larger capacity and opening hours.
The nightlife employers' association recalls that this sector is one of the most affected by the economic crisis resulting from the health crisis. Thus, most stores have been closed for 15 months but in coastal areas accumulate up to 20 months, since September 2019. According to FECARSAM, this sector employs some 40,000 people in Catalonia, directly and indirectly and after so many months closed accumulate losses worth 4,000 million euros.
