Salou. Costa Dorada. On Saturday, November 28th 2009, the Group held the 8th Fair of Christmas in c / Falset - Charlie Chaplin's / Christies (opposite the hotel near the Santa Monica hotel Caspel). For this event are expected about 1,000 people to the coast and the province. The fair will feature homemade products and crafts are typical Christmas cakes, sweets, postcards and Christmas gifts, toys, etc.. Most craft products have been produced by volunteer members of the group Freesia and designed by children in the province of Tarragona, which have recovered from cancer. Several local businesses will be present post, such as supermarkets, florist, crafts, jewelry, beauty products or sausages. Santa Claus will also participate with aides, and in his "cave" children may have their photo with Santa and receive a gift. There will be a raffle, a raffle and great prizes donated by the public and local businesses. There are also bar service and tasting of typical dishes from various countries. Last year we raised over 7,500 Euros. In total, since November 2002, the Freesia Group has raised over 165,000 Euros, money that has been distributed equally between the AECC (Association Against Cancer) and the CNIO (National Cancer Research Center) and latterly with AFANOC (against cancer in children). The group meets the first Wednesday of each month for a meal at a local restaurant. Held several events throughout the year and next would be the fifth largest Carrera Popular de Salou (4 and 10 Km), in 2010.
