Tarragona. Costa Dorada. Fundació Caixa Tarragona presents "Egypt. Step to eternity, "a show where over a hundred pieces of ancient Egypt as it is clear the Egyptians over the centuries to overcome the barriers of death and guarantee to eternity. Over 100 pieces, photographs and model of the tomb of Tutankhamun The exhibition "Egypt: the transition al'eternitat" jointly organized by the Fundació Caixa Tarragona and the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona-Clos Archaeological Foundation, brings together a hundred pieces of funerary rituals of ancient Egypt, with up to antiquity 4,000 years before Christ. The area devoted to funerary rituals contains items such as figurines, sarcophagi, funerary masks, sculptures, divine statues, funerary steles, and liturgical objects of everyday life in general. Alongside the objects you can see the photos revealing the discovery process of the tomb of Tutankhamun. The set of photos allows you to relive the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun by the images that caught digging official photographer, Harry Burton in 1922, when archaeologist Howard Carter and his team found the mitificat this famous tomb of Pharaoh. Finally, the exhibition recreates the tomb of King Tutankhamun with a model made to scale. The model reveals the magnitude of the treasures deposited there and find out in detail his last abode. Fundació Caixa Tarragona with this exhibition aims to contribute to knowledge of a civilization that, through 31 dynasties and 3,000 years of history was fundamental character moments universal culture. Complementary Activities Fundació Caixa Tarragona has prepared, as always, free guided tours for the general public every Saturday at 19 noon.
