The beaches of Torredembarra buoys will be the first to have ecological

Torredembarra. Costa Dorada. The City of Torredembarra is a pioneer in implementing an innovative and environmentally friendly to the marking of its beaches. The Port has been the place today for the presentation of the project, which is characterized by respectful and sustainable marine environment. Between Thursday and Friday will be the task of installation. The company Repsol has taken over the cost of new biotopes, amounting to 6,000 euros. The project is located 19 marker buoys with two different anchoring systems in the sea, to mark the area of bathers and ensure their safety during the summer season (between mid-June and late September) . The first system installed at the beaches of the pan, and Canyadell Maritime Quarter. All buoys that define the security perimeter for the use of intermediate swimmers will have a small buoy and two deaths. This system prevents the chain between the two deaths that support the concrete surface and the seabed by dragging and damaging the flora. The location is the same as in previous years but instead of a concrete death they placed 2 to increase the weight 75-80kg to 150-160Kg. This increase is important to keep the whole move with the waves of time degrading the seabed. Moreover, the beachfront and within Muntanyans The Natura 2000 network, installed a similar system except that instead of two deaths is placed a small biotope, 1, 30m high and about 800kg of weight. This biotope offers a refuge for juvenile fish, provide their food, and serves as a protection zone of marine recolonization. The biotope is made of concrete but is coated with calcium carbonate. It is an ideal material for this system. This was explained Michael Rota, the project manager, responsible to the Association Antin. The project has a budget of 12,500 euros. Repsol has taken over the cost of biotopes, amounting to 6,000 euros.
