Salou reinforces surveillance and police resources in the areas with the greatest tourist impact

The local police and the Mossos d'Esquadra in Salou

Salou. Costa Dorada. 31 July 2022. Local Police and Mossos d'Esquadra troops are being increased in the areas of greatest tourist impact in the capital of the Costa Dorada, with the aim of improving public safety, aspects related to mobility and eradicating uncivil acts.

The Local Police of Salou in collaboration with the Mossos d'Esquadra of the Police Station of Salou/Vila-seca have reinforced surveillance and police resources in the areas of greatest tourist impact in the capital of the Costa Daurada, such as Carles Buïgas Avenue, Bilbao Street or Colón Street, among others.

This reinforcement will last all summer and their main objective is to increase the well-being and safety of residents, tourists and visitors, eradicating uncivil acts such as the consumption of alcoholic beverages on public roads and noise; as well as aspects in the field of mobility, such as the control of the loading and unloading of goods and the circulation of scooters and bicycles outside the enabled spaces.

According to the latest Local Security meeting, there has been a 26% reduction in criminal acts thanks, among other factors, to the good coordination of all the police forces: Mossos d'Esquadra, Civil Guard, Local Police and National Police", recalled the councilor for Citizen Security and Mobility, David González.

Faced with these good data, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has said that "from Salou City Council, the safety of people and their well-being and tranquility is, for us, a top priority". and has affirmed that "Salou is a safe city and we will continue to work so that it remains so".
