The people, protagonists of the investment plan of Salou 2019-2023

Presentation of the Salou 2019-2023 budget plan



Salou. Costa Dorada. 21 November 2019. Salou City Council has developed the municipal investment plan for the entire 2019-2023 term. It exceeds 27 million euros and focuses especially on equipment and improvements in urban spaces for “the enjoyment of citizenship”, as explained by Mayor Pere Granados.

Among the actions planned in terms of equipment, a picnic area and public services to Emprius are planned; the second phase of the Municipal Stadium, light bar and lawn (2020-2021); the restoration of the Catalan Farmhouse and the conversion into a tourist exhibition space for products with Denomination of Origin; the air conditioning of the municipal swimming pool; cover a sports court at Santa María del Mar School; the project of the old Library and historical interpretation center; the Casal de la Mujer (in the old House of the Masters); the renovation of beach equipment; the improvement of equipment such as the Torre Vella, the TAS and the schools; the reform of Chalet Torremar; the expansion of the cemetery, future participatory budgets, the expansion of the skate court, among others.

It is also very important to build the new Library in three annuities (2021, 2022 and 2023) and the Social Services Building (the same years), two works that will give added value to the services that the municipality already has. For the cultural building, which will be located next to the Athena center, there is a budget of 3,600,000 euros. It will be a "modern and intelligent space to spread the culture," says the mayor. The new Social Services building has a budget of 2,000,000 euros. "It will be built where the Espacio Mas is currently located, where the new Peace Court and Municipal Employment Services will also be," as specified by the Councilor for Security and Mobility, David González.

In addition, the villa next to the train track, on the street of Barcelona, ​​which is municipal property, will be remodeled and an intelligence office, a smart office, dedicated to the world of smart and information point will be created.

In the part of the investment plan that focuses on infrastructure and public roads, the remodeling of the Carles Buigas area stands out. The project is already drafted and the work is scheduled to begin in October 2020. It is budgeted with 2,750,000 euros and, as Pere Granados explained, the idea is to make a new avenue that joins Paseo Jaume I and Paseo Miramar. In this way, "we recover an urban space for the enjoyment of people", said the mayor.

Other planned actions are the renovation of the Botanical Park, a vindication of the population, through the participatory budgets of 2019; the work on the sidewalk of Vial de Cavet; the improvement of the accessibility of the Camino de Ronda and shipments; the lighting of Zaragoza street; the remodeling of the fountains of the promenade and management of the garden area; the garden improvement plan; the asphalt improvement plan (parking on Pompeu Fabra streets, c. Berlin and Hotel Regina area (€ 1,100,000); Salou sidewalk improvement plan (€ 1,400,000); c. Norias, Pompeu Fabra Avenue, and the six-seater arrangement of Salou. All these actions have a total budget of almost 8 million euros, as explained by the Councilor for Internal Services and new Technologies, Jesús Barragán, "to adapt the city to new needs. "
