The 400,000 attendees at the Festa al Cel certify Salou's organizational capacity
Salou. Costa Dorada. 22 September 2026. If in 2025 the first edition of Salou's Festa al Cel brought together 300,000 spectators, the 400,000 attendees at the second edition in 2026 certify the municipality's great capacity to organize major events. Added to the high attendance numbers is the logistical complexity of hosting international teams and aircraft, which for this edition arrived from Sweden, Poland, and Latvia.
The Festa al Cel has been a complete success; it "reinforces Salou's international profile and highlights the municipality's capacity to host major events," as explained by the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados. He also emphasized that "the most important thing is seeing how Salou residents can enjoy a great spectacle at home and share it with people who have traveled to Salou. This creates city pride and a sense of belonging."
In his assessment of the Festa al Cel, Granados made special mention of the work done by the organization, logistics, mobility, security, cleaning, technical services, and customer service teams, and expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the public administrations, state security forces, Salou Local Police, Mossos d’Esquadra, SEM (Medical Emergency Service), Civil Protection, emergency services, and municipal employees. "This success," Granados said, "is shared."
For his part, the director of the Festa al Cel, Daniel Ventura, highlighted the growing international dimension of the festival, featuring teams from countries such as Latvia, Poland, and Sweden, among others.
Ventura explained that bringing international aircraft and crews involves complex logistics, but it allows the festival to offer a unique lineup and attract enthusiasts who travel specifically to Salou.
Awards and Recognitions
Following an intense weekend of aerial displays and shows, the mayor of Salou presided over the closing and recognition ceremony of the Festa al Cel, during which the following awards were presented:
Special recognition was also given to Commander Juan Bengoechea, coinciding with his final display as an Eurofighter display pilot at the Festa al Cel in Salou. Granados presented him with a replica of the monument to King James I as a keepsake of his participation in Salou.

- The Josep Canudas Award to Mariano Gasparet Romero, Director of Communication at ENAIRE, who accepted it on behalf of José Antonio Santano Clavero, Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility and President of the ENAIRE Foundation.
