Salou. Costa Dorada. 08 June 2025.
Nothing better than to start the summer by celebrating the solstice of this time of year on the beach, with a good bonfire of Sant Joan and a party that combines tradition and "revetlles". If you are looking for this complete pack, come to Salou and enjoy a magical weekend.
The beaches of Salou, especially Llevant, are filled with groups of friends and family prepared with everything necessary to celebrate the arrival of summer and the festival of Sant Joan on the beach.
As the tradition marks, on June 23 the "Flama del Canigó" will arrive in Salou with which the bonfires of Sant Joan will be lit. The Flame will be picked up by the heirs and heir of Salou, who will go to the tourist train, accompanied by the Damned Devils, the Witches Latemó, the Xaloc and the Bruna. Together they will carry the flame to the Plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas.
The peveter will be lit and the message of Sant Joan will be read. Whoever wishes can write a wish and put it inside the peveter, as a ritual to be fulfilled in the following months.
At 10 p.m. the bonfire of the Ponent beach will be lit, in the closest part to the Espigó del Moll, and then there will be a fireworks show and young party.
For its part, in the Comunitats Autònomes square, there will also be a great popular festival.
If from midnight you choose to swim in the sea as a ritual so that luck accompanies you during the next 12 months, enjoy your night bath with caution.
In Salou, as in all the towns and cities of Catalonia, fire is an essential element of the festival and especially of the San Juan festival. That is why it is important to remember some basic safety tips to enjoy bonfires, correfocs and rockets or firecrackers safely. We also offer you tips to protect your pets if they are scared by the noise of fireworks.
