Winds of 145 km / h. cause fall of trees in Salou, Cambrils and La Pineda

A large tree fell on three cars in Salou.

Salou. Costa Dorada. 31 March 2018. The storm of wind that has affected all of Catalonia on Saturday March 31 has caused hundreds of incidents in the regions of Tarragonés and Baix Camp. Among the services carried out by the emergency personnel, the fall of trees has been one of the most repeated events. In Salou, a large tree has fallen on the vehicles parked on Les Sínies street without any injuries being recorded. The calls to emergencies in the capital of the Costa Dorada were motivated mostly by problems in building windows.

The wind has also started in La Pineda, in the municipality of Vila-seca, a protection network for some facilities. Numerous detachments of ceilings and slabs of facades have had as localities the Tarragonés and Baix Camp. Only in these two counties have more than half thousand calls been received for different incidents. Riudoms, Cambrils (68), Tarragona (104) and Reus (176) have been the source of requests for assistance to Bombers.

Traffic for trucks and caravans was prohibited on the A-7 motorway and three train lines were interrupted for hours on the line passing through Salou and the one that connects Reus and Tarragona was affected by a metal plate that "flew" over the catenary .

Civil Protection estimates that during the night and early morning of today (Resurrection Sunday), the wind episode ends.
