Salou with Pride Day
Salou. Costa Dorada. 30 June 2017. Salou supports the International Day in favor of Diversity and Equality of the LGTBI collective hanging the Irisada flag on the balcony of the consistory and painting different banks with the colors of the flag in the square September 11, the Luminous Fountain, the square of The Autonomous Communities, the Cybernetic Fountain and the Sant Jordi Square.
The Councilor for Welfare and Social Services, Estela Baeza, explained that this year "we wanted to go beyond giving support to LGTBI rights and that is why we have painted different banks of the municipality with the colors of the rainbow to give more visibility to the cause" . Baeza added that "the banks are much more than an urban equipment that allows people to sit down, but it is also a meeting point, socialization and, ultimately, a place to meet."
For this reason, banks are a good initiative to promote diversity, respect and recognition of LGTBI rights.
The banks have been painted by the staff of the Local Occupation Plan Jaime I 2017.
