The Night of the Castells will showcase the best images of the casteller world in the hands of Repsol

One of the four images awarded this year to the Repsol competition

Salou. Costa Dorada. 19 January 2018. Repsol and the Revista Castells have signed a collaboration agreement that renews the condition of Repsol as a sponsor of the Night of Castellss, which will celebrate its twelfth edition on January 27 in Valls. Within the framework of this event, the Castells Magazine has called the 5th Repsol Castellera Photography Prize, which recognizes the best photographs of the 2017 season in two aspects, the professional and the popular. During the Night, the prizes of photography and the other awards will be presented annually and with the participation of different juries, granted the Castells Magazine.

With reference to the 5th Repsol Castellera Photography Prize, in its professional category, it has had the participation of 57 images from 19 different photographers. The first prize winner will receive 700 euros; the second, 350 euros; the third, 150 euros, and the fourth and fifth, 100 euros each. The jury is formed by the presidents of the seven groups that last year made castles of extra range.

With regard to the popular voting category, it had the participation of 135 images, which received more than 10,000 votes. The winning photograph of the popular category is Aitor Úbeda and is starring a member of the gangster of Los Nois de la Torre. Xavi Vicente's second image is the protagonist of the spectacular 3de8 that Castellers de Vilafranca made in the Sagrada Familia. The third most voted image is by Nátalia Masferrer and shows the pineapple of the Xerrics d'Olot after the fall of the pillar of the 4th with the needle, while the fourth photograph is Andrea Ramos and teaches the proud face of the mother of The Enaine of the Young Boys, face to face with his son. The contest has been made on the Facebook page of the Castells Magazine for about a month. The winners will receive: 300 euros, the most voted; 150 euros, the second; 100 euros, the third, and 50 euros, the fourth.

Repsol is a company committed to its environment, and wants to bring the Industrial Complex to the company and involve it in its day to day life. This collaboration is related to the actions of Repsol in the field of traditional and popular culture and, in particular, in support of the casteller world. A sample of this support is the sponsorship of the Castells de Tarragona contest or its collaboration with the Colles Castelleres de Catalunya Coordinator (CCCC).
