Final line to promote Salou as a tourist destination before summer

Activities with travel agents have been prioritized



Salou. Costa Dorada. 07 June 2018. The last weeks have been frantic for the Tourism Board of Salou, which has supported a series of actions that aim to bring our tourist destination to the world. Mundiavocat - the soccer world cup for lawyers -, the Salou Yoga Festival, the Challenge Salou triathlon and the Barcelona Football Festival have been activities in which the municipality has been involved. But, in addition it has attended two fairs and has organized a dozen fam and press trips with about 450 people.

The intention is to attract new clients and reinforce the loyalty of those who already know our destiny, so that they consider it a municipality of the first order to spend a vacation with the family or as a couple, to enjoy both the sports activities or to enjoy the theme parks, among other attractions offered by Salou to the visitor. "We believe that tourism promotion can be done in several ways, from the beginning, looking for events that bring many people and know first hand our town or also going out to look for new markets with actions that attract the attention of the visiting public," explained the councilor of Tourism Benet Dams.

Nearly 450 travel agents to Salou

Precisely, in the last month and a half the Board has intensified its contact agenda to show the attractions of Salou to journalists, bloggers, influencers and travel agents and has hosted more than 446 tourism professionals divided into 12 fam and press trips arrived from Tallinn (Estonia); from different cities of Ukraine; 50 travel agents from Budapest; a group of journalists from television stations in the Samara and Ekaterinburg area. Also from a Moscow magazine; 23 agents from St. Petersburg; a promotion action carried out by the FEHT with the participation of 190 travel agents from all over Spain under the name of 'Costa Dorada Life'; in addition to 21 Kiev agents; or a reception for 80 agents in total from the cities of Yekaterinburg, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Krasnodar. It has also accompanied 17 bloggers and influencers cruceristas from all over Italy in a press Trip Costa Croiciere; a Fam trip TUI Russia with 21 agents from different cities of Russia; or, finally, a Fam trip Uzbekistan with 13 agents from Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

As for the fairs, Salou has also been present at the Barcelona 'getaway market', where Costa Dorada has participated, in a corner format and also at the Babies and Mums fair at the Montjuïc fairgrounds in Barcelona. For councilor Dams, "is a point of reference for families that specialize in creating services and products to meet the needs of parents and their children during the holidays," he said. For us it is important to be in this fair that has more than 76,500 visitors, 260 exhibitors and has already held 41 editions. In this promotion, Salou has participated in the stand of the Catalan Tourism Agency, and the counter of Costa Dorada with the other certified municipalities in Family Tourism: Cambrils, Vila-seca-La Pineda, Calafell and El Vendrell.
