Salou. Costa Dorada. 26 November 2018.
Christmas lights illuminate the streets of Salou on Friday, which is preparing for the next December 5 the third edition of the Christmas Market. Highlights of this Christmas decoration is the ten-meter-high tree installed at the intersection of Barcelona Street and Via Roma. Shops are preparing for the Christmas campaign. The lighting has been installed, in addition to the most central street, in the accesses to the urbanizations. In total, there will be about 280 motifs that adorn the city on these important dates and are distributed in a quarantine of streets.
The new lighting will shine throughout the Christmas campaign and until after Reyes, and will be on every day until about one in the morning. For the mayor, Pere Granados, "it is important to decorate our municipality during these dates because lighting is a stimulus for trade." In fact, the purpose of the consistory is to boost commercial activity thanks to the Christmas lighting and also that the lights attract visitors during the Christmas season.
Remember that as of Wednesday, December 5, the Department of Economic Promotion, Trade and Markets has also organized a new edition of the Christmas Market coinciding with Santa Lucia and where a dozen stops will display typical products. The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Trade and Markets, Martina Fourrier, stressed that "this Christmas Market has as its main objective to promote local trade, as well as enjoy a fair full of gifts, food, music, children's entertainment, and many surprises plus".
The day of the inauguration will feature the itinerant show "Beduinos" by La Fam Teatre, where a group of nomadic mosquitoes with their giant dromedary will enter the town of Salou. The show will feature a set of lights, moving heads and sound, as well as aerial acrobatics with fabrics and a powerful pyrotechnic end with static effects, aerial fire and shots of confetti and streamers. The show will start at 6pm at the Plaza de la Paz, until you reach the junction between Barcelona Street and Via Roma and to the market of Sant Jordi Square. This third edition can be visited until December 9. During the days of the fair will bet on entertainment and leisure activities for children, with several thematic workshops.
Between the lighting and the Christmas campaign, the Department of Economic Promotion and Commerce allocated more than 80,000 euros.
