There is one month to go until Salou looks to the sky once again. From 18 to 20 September, Salou's coastline will host the second edition of Festa al Cel Salou 2026, turning the city into a spectacular three-day aerial display.
Last year's first edition attracted more than 350,000 people. This year, the programme has been strengthened with the participation of some of the most prominent military and civilian aircraft and aviation teams, which is expected to attract another large crowd.
The event will begin on Friday, 18 September, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with training flights and technical checks by the participants. On Saturday 19, from 6 p.m. to 9:25 p.m., it will be time for the PortAventura Sunset Airshow, a spectacular show combining aerial acrobatics with lights, smoke, lasers and pyrotechnics during sunset.
The main event will take place on Sunday, 20 September, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the major air show featuring fighter jets, helicopters, historic and civilian aircraft, emergency services and aerobatic formations.
Participating aircraft will include the Eurofighter Typhoon, A400M, Canadair CL-415T, Tigre and Chinook, as well as the Spanish Air Force Parachute Acrobatic Patrol (PAPEA). International teams such as the Baltic Bees, Scandinavian Airshows, Aerosparx and the Flying Dragons Paramotor Team will also take part.
Commercial aviation will also be represented by a Vueling Airbus A320, while the Government of Catalonia Fire and Rescue Service will participate with an AT-802F Fire Boss. The programme will also feature representatives from historic and sport aviation.
Festa al Cel will also offer activities on the beachfront, including flight simulators and areas designed to bring aviation and technology closer to visitors.
Given the expected large crowds, the organisers recommend planning your journey to Salou in advance, checking the schedules and using public transport whenever possible. Visitors are also advised to bring water, sun protection, a hat and comfortable clothing, and to follow the instructions provided by security and emergency services.
