The new consortium 'Vitalitat Reus' wants Navàs House as one of the pillars of tourism promotion

Reus. Costa Dorada. Reus wants to strengthen the House Navàs, a modernist gem located in the central Plaza del Mercadal from this city as one of the popular tourist attractions, as reported by the new consortium for the promotion 'ReusVitalitat ', formed on July 1st of 2009. In this sense, the city wants to strengthen negotiations with the owners of the house to do a remodeling of the facade, now protected by a network due to conservation issues and to negotiate at the same time, greater flexibility in the opening hours of this modernist monument . Navàs House was designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and was built between 1901 and 1907. Modernism in all its richness of detail, is expressed in both the Navàs House  as its exterior and interior, in every corner, so Navàs House is now one of the best examples of Modernism at the European level. This is one of the goals it has set a new consortium to promote tourism, trade and cultural Reus, with the name of 'ReusVitalitat ' was formally established this past July 1, 2009. The consortium is chaired by the Mayor, Lluís Miquel Pérez, while the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Reus, Isaac Sanromà, took primary responsibility as head of its Executive Committee. This new body has as main objective the promotion of the city. The Consortium is composed of 8 representatives of the House and 8 representatives of the City Council. In particular there is representation from all local political groups, the major associations of traders in the city, and also the sector of hotels and catering. The hard core of the Consortium is constituted by the Executive Committee, chaired by Isaac Sanromà and integrated by the councilor Promotion Martina Garcia and the Chairman of the Committee on Internal Trade of the House, Dídac Rodriguez. The last days of this meeting also served to 1 to approve the regular budget of the new body for the second half of this year, estimated at 110.000 euros, and to give green light to the appointment of Xavier Vall, with an extensive background in the professional world of tourism promotion, as the first manager of 'ReusVitalitat' .
