Christmas lights in Salou

Salou. Costa Dorada. 23 November 2025. On Friday, November 28, 2025, Salou will light the Christmas lights and release a new Christmas tree, with a more natural appearance than the previous years, and higher, since it reaches 12 meters high. In addition, the City Council has extended Christmas lighting to the entire municipality and has reinforced it in the main commercial axis of the capital of the Costa Dorada.

The show that will light the Christmas lights will begin at 7 p.m. at the roundabout at which Barcelona street converges with Via Roma, where the Christmas tree is also mounted. The goblins Lolli&Pop, from the Fran company, will present a very familiar show. They will perform the Children's Choir and the Middle Choir of the Municipal School of Music of Salou, and the Moon and Escena dance schools will offer a joint performance of their young students. The event, in addition to music, includes chocolate, gifts and different surprises.

This is a very massive event, in which families and people of all ages participate. That’s why it’s important to get there with enough time, as the surroundings at the roundabout where the Christmas tree is and the stage are filled with people.

Sustainable Christmas decoration

As for the decoration of Christmas, Barcelona street incorporates new Christmas figures in three dimensions, and 10 additional light curtains have been installed in the palm trees of the northern part of this axis, next to Ametlla de Mar street. The will is to reinforce the festive image of one of the main commercial circuits of Salou.

In addition to lighting, new Christmas figures are installed at street level, bright cords, renewed motifs and street lamps that transform the urban physiognomy with a completely new Christmas image.

All Christmas reasons are highly energy efficient, since sustainability is a key element in municipal management. For this reason, the Christmas decoration of the City Council has also been renewed and has been replaced by light and very low consumption aluminum elements.

Croché Christmas Tree

The big Christmas tree on Barcelona Street is not the only one in the municipality. Salou has a Christmas tree made in crochet by the Association Group of Women of Salou. The tree is 10 meters high and is the highest hook in Catalonia. This tree will be illuminated on November 29 at 7 p.m., and as a novelty incorporates a flag of Salou also made in crochet.
