Salou. Costa Dorada.  37 boats have registered to participate in the 35th contest squid fishing, which every year is celebrated in the waters of Salou. The activity, organized from the Department of Culture of the City of Salou and the Yacht Club with the support of the population has developed smoothly thanks to good weather and the state of the sea. In total, 30 boats have registered more than one crew member while there are 7 that have a single fisherman, and as is tradition since the competition, when there are more than 5 vessels with one crew member is counted separately. The competition for a squid fishing scored with 100 points, while a sum of 20 and sepia in a pop 10. Today, first day of fishing on the boat with skipper John Carbonell Argos IV was the top scorer with 850 points, while a single category in the fisherman was Orts Francis, winner of last year, aboard Salou of the boat that has won 510 points. Other prizes, according to the bases have been fishing for the largest squid in the boat Anton Ginovart Lidia IV that has caught a specimen of 1245 grammes. Finally, the prize for the smallest squid day today, 88 grams, has been for the boat Andreamar Esteve Giralt.  The  fishing contest ending on Friday wil continue with the final scores and continue Saturday night with dinner at the Yacht Club and awards, Sunday, a popular Fideuada
