Salou. Costa Dorada. The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, along with the councilman of Land Management, Marc Montagut, the councilman of Tourism, Alberto del Hierro and Councilman of Economic Management and Internal Management, Jesus Barragan, met with Chief Executive of PortAventura , Lluís Rull and CEO of the company Investindustrial, Carlo Umberto Bonomi, for details of the operation of capital increase totaling 94.8 million euros that has been granted to PortAventura. With this operation, Criteria, which will retain the remaining 50%, takes an important step towards the enhancement of the park in the long term, by ensuring that an industrial group with family roots and a presence in Catalonia, is incorporated into the management of this project, essential to the Costa Dorada. The partners expect investments worth around 80 million euros over the next four years, as explained by the present CEO of Investindustrial, plus 60 million more on marketing and promotion. The mayor of Salou, at the meeting, thanked those responsible for the "first-hand information we had and at the right time." Besides pointing out that "we can only welcome the large infusion of capital flowing to Salou with a future project and more so in times of crisis." The mayor has also expressed the highest willingness to cooperate because "we know what PortAventura means for us." In this sense, Granados has assured that "our opinion can not be another. We have done a more than positive analisys of what it means to Salou this capital increase in the park as a tourist destination because no one discusses the attractiveness of the park for our visitors. For his part, Lluís Rullan stressed the goodness of the capital and thanked the good cooperation that has been and remains with the city of Salou. "We have done great things," he noted. Investindustrial CEO, Bonomi, explained the project and says that the important sum of money that will reach the park in the coming years "will benefit customers, employees and shareholders of PortAventura, and will strengthen our position as a leading theme park in southern Europe. As explained, Investindustrial has been the majority shareholder of Gardaland, Italy's first theme park, with approximately 3.5 million visitors a year, where it helped improve growth and profitability of the park.
