Salou. Costa Dorada. The consistory of Salou has opted to add to the traditional attractions offered by the town to its numerous visitors from around the world, exhibitions of high artistic monuments that go out to meet the passer. On July 10th of 2009 from 20.30 h the sculptor, Clemente Ochoa, accompanied by the mayor, Pere Granados, and the councilor for Culture, Isabel Aguilera, visit the exhibition of 8 monumental sculptures stainless steel. The tallest is 6 meters in height and all the work beautify this emblematic area of Salou until August 6th of 2009. The location of these works in an open environment conducive to their adjustment to reflect changes in the surface of light throughout the day, clouds or sky radiant with the blinding rays of the sun. After a solid academic and throughout its long and brilliant career, the sculptor from Navarra based in Catalonia, Clemente Manuel Ochoa (Cascante, 1937) has evolved from classic expressionist and organic and forth to achieve, through the stylization Anthropomorphic, a personal aside. The human being is the fundamental concerns of his work, referring both to its physical aspect, especially its dynamic ability, and the soul, evoking feelings and emotions. Although the author has had the sculpture in all sizes and techniques, his work is monumental, -distributed throughout Spain, the Canary Islands, Andorra, France and Italy-, where there is better, says the curator of the show, Dra. Raquel Medina, this kind of abstract kinetism characterized his work since the late 80’s, his evasion of the particular soil to invade the space with shapes that seem drawn signs or traces arabesques in the air.
