The Director of Business Area of "la Caixa" in Tarragona, Victor Hernandez, director CaixaForum and Tarragona, Carles Marquès, presented this morning Tarragona CaixaForum programming for 2009-2010. The new season of social and cultural center of the Obra Social "la Caixa" in the city is governed by a clear principle: the consolidation of its civic character as a meeting between culture, science and citizenship, one year after its implementation as CaixaForum. Looking to the 2009-2010 season, the Obra Social "la Caixa" CaixaForum Tarragona preparing a comprehensive and innovative, the service of communication, socialization and, ultimately, the welfare of all citizens: a single model cultural, civic and social institution that has moved in recent years at other schools that have broken the seal CaixaForum. In 1993 opened the first CaixaForum in Palma, in the building designed by Lluis Domenech i Montaner, followed in 2002, the opening of CaixaForum Barcelona, housed in the old modernist works Casaramona (designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch) and last year 2008, CaixaForum Madrid, in the central Paseo del Prado. La Obra Social "la Caixa" opened the season in September with the sample Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939): seduction, modernity and utopia, the first major exhibition devoted to the creator of Art Nouveau.
