Jose Montilla has placed the first stone of the new children's area in PortAventura



Vilaseca-Salou. Costa Dorada. The President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, José Montilla, chaired the 25 July ceremony laying the first stone of the new children's area of Aventura. This new area will open its doors in spring 2011. The president's visit is part of the Government of the celebration of 15th anniversary of the opening of the theme park.   The ceremony was attended by, among other authorities, Xavier Sabaté, delegate of the Generalitat de Catalunya Tarragona Josep Poblet, Mayor of Vila-seca, and Peter Granados, mayor of Salou. Representing PortAventura attended Massanell Antonio, chairman of the Board; Carlo Umberto Bonomi, CEO of Investindustrial and member of the Board; Aldecoa Fernando, Director General; Budzaku Betim, Director Commercial and Luis Valencia, Director of Development .   During his visit, President of the Government stressed that "fifteen years of Aventura is a clear sign of its vitality and good health, which places him as an exemplary model of theme park and holiday center and business center conventions. "He also added that" PortAventura is a playful reference to Catalonia and not only economic but also in Spain and Europe. "According to José Montilla," the construction of new children's area is a success, guaranteed success past and future. "   Meanwhile, the president of Aventura, Anthony Massanell noted that "this new area we want to respond to visitors who request a more familiar area, where children find an area suited to their needs." Apart from the attractions will install a large tree fantasy in the children's area where children can enter. In the section shows, children's area will have a new outdoor amphitheater with capacity for 300 people and will have a program that shows throughout the day. Beside the theater, a restaurant will set with capacity for 300 people, as well as a store theme. The area has two main entrances, one to communicate with the pedestrian area of Polynesia, the other by train. This will create a third train station that runs throughout the park and currently has stops in the Mediterranean and Far West. This project is part of plans announced earlier this year by the shareholders of PortAventura-Investindustrial and Criteria-invest 80 million euros over the next 4 years. Sergio Feder, Chairman of the Executive Committee of PortAventura, believes "this is a very important project for PortAventura, since it is to expand the park in response to a request history of our customers. This is an investment of 12 million is part of a long-term investment plan designed by the shareholders of the company.
