El Vendrell. Costa Dorada. On Monday 25 January, at about nine o'clock at night, will meet again in the square Plaça Nova de El Vendrell, all those people who have facial hair and eager to wear it. The Feast of the bearded is a festival that began in 1994 and for sixteen years - and seventeen editions - has brought together a hundred bearded to El Vendrell on one of those days when the calendar says it's peasant Week the bearded. And according to the timetable of the Holy Catholic Church this week all have beards, for shelter from the cold, since it is a week of winter. They are: Sant Fruitós, Saint Maurice, Saint Vincent and others. The Feast of bearded El Vendrell has its own characteristics, basically it is an encounter with a street parade and a dinner, and it is imperative to have facial hair to attend. But the place where dinner is not known, we only know that a restaurant will be located in the municipality of El Vendrell, and that one of the dishes will be the traditional xató. Another incentive is the commemorative piece of art that occurs every year and is beginning to be a good collection of different artists that have been linked with the world of the beard.
