Ascensión a la atalaya del Montmell

Climb the highest peak of the Sierra del Montmell , to the Talaia or  Watchtower, a good vantage point of the region and the southern mountains of the Principality. The starting point of this route is the Joncosa Montmell following the road where you get TV from 2401 La Bisbal del Penedes (population accessed the AP-2, exit 12). Outside the Joncosa, northward, under the range of Montmell, there is a picnic area where you can park your car and start the hike. Must be placed at the entrance to the recreation area and take center court. Soon to follow to the left and continue uphill to reach the New Church, half in ruins, located on the left side of the track (0.3 km from the exit). Track up to 100 meters from the church, and about 10 minutes of parking, take a path that goes right. 5 min later, a quarter of an hour of departure, this path and you still lose a turn right to follow all climbing the south side of the mountain. At 20 min (0.75 miles from the exit) is along the beautiful and humble chapel of St. Michael's Montmell that seems to have fallen due to the strong inclination of the terrain. The climb continues to the left and the path leads to a small neck that makes the divide between the hills and castle Montmell Cross. In 25 minutes you reach the hill. On the left is the castle. Continue to the right and reached Cape Cross in the Sierra. From the Cross you will see the Watchtower. The hill has lost altitude later recovered to make 860 m from the Watchtower. In less than 1 h and 1.87 km long reach to the viewpoint of the entire region of Baix Penedes of the Watchtower Montmell. The return is the same way.
