Tuna Tour Experience or bathe between tuna in Ametlla de Mar

Missing a few minutes before ten o'clock. We are in the port of Ametlla de Mar, with the Balfegó Tour, a modern catamaran Balfegó Group that will take us to our meeting with hundreds of bluefin tuna in the Mediterranean. Soon we bathe with these impressive animals can grow up to three meters long and weigh over 600 kilos.

The Balfegó Tour is a modern and very spacious catamaran with capacity for 70 people plus crew where we can move seamlessly between the two decks of the boat.

The BalfegóTour has begun maneuver and within minutes we have left behind the port of Ametlla de Mar. In the lower deck a documentary that explains the close relationship between man and tuna and details some of the ancient techniques that facilitated their capture emphasizing especially in the art of almadrava. After a while Balfegó Tour aboard our attention is focused on bluefin tuna farms Balfegó Group has at sea. A set of floating circular farms attract large numbers of gulls.

Within a few minutes we bathe in contact with the Mediterranean bluefin tuna. We stand lifejackets, immersion glasses and little by little, we are entering the sea. The water temperature is about 22 degrees. Once acclimated in water we remain still on the surface, almost motionless. It is the best position for watching tunas groups with whom we share the bathroom. The experience is unique, pass over and over again and feel is of constant surprise.

In the sea, in contact with the tuna, no children, their parents, young people, older people ... together sharing a unique and exclusive in the Spanish coast can only live in Ametlla de Mar and by "Experience: Tuna Tour".

We're back. We take the sun on deck and after a quick shower we went down to the lower deck where the crew is preparing bluefin tuna tasting to help us recover. We return to enter the port of Ametlla de Mar. The catamaran and is again tied.
