The Firagost in Valls

The Catalan Countryside Festival

Every year, the first Wednesday of August, the Firagost is celebrated in Valls, The Fair-Exposition of the Catalan countryside, a fair which houses more than 350 expositors in a fair place of more than one kilometre and a half.

The Firagost is a crowded fair which is complemented with agricultural divulgation acts, horse draw concourses, human towers exhibition by the xiquets de Valls, wine taste concourse... A fair which is showed in the main streets of the village, covered with tilts in order to protect from the sun, and which has a special attraction due to the variety of products, to its presentation and to its typical and popular commercial features.

The Firagost is organised all together by the Town hall, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Valls, the Agricultural Co-operative of Valls, the DARP County Office, Trades-people Union and Country men Union. The fair welcomes every body yet all the exhibitions are free of charge. We invite every body to visit the FIRAGOST, a different fair with a special attraction in which more than 40 agricultural co-operatives of Catalonia expose their products. Those who already know the FIRAGOST, and those who have never visited it are all invited to this genuine countryside fair, known as well as the Catalan Countryside Major Festival.
