Beaches Llevant and Ponent of Salou, the only of the Costa Dorada with the Q for Tourism Quality

The City Councilor for Tourism of Salou, Alberto del Hierro, has collected the flags of the quality Q of Tourist Quality for the beaches of Salou Ponent and Llevant awarded by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE). These are the only beaches on the Costa Dorada have achieved this distinctive, while the rest of Catalonia there are only 7 more and the whole of Spain only 118 beaches.

These beaches received quality certification during the course of the fair FITUR the end of January and will be valid throughout 2009. Pending delivery of the flags as certified. Q distinctive addition to the beaches of Llevant and Ponent, Salou beaches all have the environmental certification ISO 14.001:2004, and the beach and the marina Llevant also waved the blue flags this summer.

The elements that took account of ICTE in the granting of this label, which brings prestige, differentiation, reliability and rigor are: safety, rescue and first aid, information, cleaning, maintenance of facilities and equipment, access, toilets and leisure services.

In this way, for example, emphasized the existence of a system for handling complaints and suggestions from users as well as a beacon for the entrance and exit of vessels and bins / containers at all major entrances and accesses other side. Other criteria that took into consideration were the team that provides security services, rescue and first aid, as it has adequate training and with adequate material resources, the operating hours of leisure services is defined and communicated to users, and that the toilets remain available to users for more than 8 hours a day, among other things.
