The "Liceu a la fresca" will return on Friday evening at the Levante beach in Salou with the screening of the opera "Tosca" by Giacomo Puccini, who will perform at the Gran Teatre del Liceu next Friday, June 28 at 22:00 a.m. At the same time, on the large screen that Salou will install on the Playa de Llevant, at the height of the Plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas. The realization of this activity is free so that everyone can enjoy it.
The year 2016 was the first time that the City of Salou joined this project.
The Liceu is a private foundation of a cultural nature and its main purpose is the promotion and execution of all those initiatives that revert to the promotion and empowerment of opera music in the whole territory of Catalonia. In 2007 the LICEU started the "Liceu on the Beach" project which consisted of projecting on the large screen on the beach of Barceloneta the opera that was being represented at the Liceu that same night. After the success achieved, this initiative was intended to be extended to other places in Catalonia in order to put opera at the fingertips of everyone, without any economic or geographical limitations.
