Salou. Costa Dorada. 12 November 2019. Salou, the capital of the Costa Dorada has a plan and an objective: to become a sustainable tourist destination. To achieve this, the municipality will work this year to execute the actions that will make it an Intelligent Tourist Destination (DTI) and will deepen the seasonality. This was explained by the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, when taking stock of the 2019 season.

In fact, the Spanish market is the most important in Salou, followed by the British and French. Salou also excels in the Russian market, which has grown 5.8 percent, and stands out in the Irish and Dutch markets.

For his part, the manager of the Tourist Board, Juan Carlos Capilla, explained that they work to diversify the issuing markets to which they are targeting, since “the sum of small markets is growing”. In this sense, the head of promotion of the Tourist Board, Natalia Bel, has reviewed the main actions carried out, highlighting the participation in 25 fairs, 9 workshops, 7 roadshows and 31 fam trips, press trips and blog trips. In this sense, the main novelty has been the participation in tourist fairs in Tallinn, Israel, Hungary, and the return to the Lisbon fair.
