Salou. Costa Dorada. Salou host of Biodiversity Week with different activities and events aimed at raising awareness on environmental protection. The fair will be held from 1 to June 5, part of World Environment Day, proclaimed by the United Nations in 1972. Attendees will participate in activities aimed at recognizing the importance of biodiversity and call attention to future challenges in the defense and protection of nature. The events that take place during the first week of June will concern activities and workshops for environmental awareness and recycling. The program will also include a representation under the name "Igor, the earth warmed 'to be held at the Auditorium Theater of Salou and a photographic exhibition with the winning photo contest that annually awards the ADENC. The Councillor for Environment, Montserrat Porter said "it is important to promote initiatives like this that help raise awareness of individual responsibility in environmental matters is how the selective collection and recycling."   Photo Exhibition "Instants of Nature ' Within the program of activities, on June 2, inaugurated the exhibition "Moments of Nature 'in Botanic Park. The exhibition contains the best photographs in the fourth edition of the competition. The subjects of the images are endangered or protected nature, fauna, flora and inanimate nature. The opening ceremony will take place at 19:30 on Thursday and will feature the winner photographer, Fernando Aguilar, the Mayor of Salou and Councillor Peter Granados of Public Health and Environment, Montserrat Porter. The contest to Instants Nature created seven years ago to encourage other ways of observing the environment by joining the artistic sense of photography with its ability to report the assault to the landscape. Of all the photographs presented, the jury chose the winners and they deserved a special mention. These photographs make up the exhibition which this year comes in Salou.   Workshops for children and youth Among the workshops taking place this week, found the collection inflatable selective didactic proposal consisting in making a group of youngsters play al'inflable placing cushions to make the most appropriate treatment. This activity aims to educate and entertain youngsters from 3 to 12 years.   The aim is to try, so playful and fun, the basics of selective collection and encourage the participation of the population. Between workshops, the presentation will also take place as stated on the clothes placed in the container, the same classification and have different destinations, explanation of cooperative projects to benefit from this action. Acquired skills: importance of recycling, the value of used clothing, humanitarian aid.
