Tasta Porrera 2009 bet by the traditional cuisine and wine of the Priorat

Porrera. Terres de l’Ebre. The Porrera offers the next 7 November a unique opportunity to learn about wine, the people and its cuisine, under the Taste Porrera 2009. The Association of Wineries Porrera (which includes eighteen wineries), with support from the council and the Board of the Qualified Denomination of Origin Priory promotes this popular festival that wants to offer amateurs and experts the chance to discover the characteristics and properties of wines of this village. For this reason, beginning at 11 am, Plaza Catalunya in Porrera will be filled with stands of 16 wineries that will give the people the chance to try their wines. In addition, during the day there will be a place where to obtain the wines Porrera with some significant discounts, provided only for that day. Coinciding with the Taste Porrera 2009, the five restaurants of the town will offer visitors samples of the traditional local cuisine and so ocal wine will be held to people.   According to the spokesman of the Association of Wineries Porrera, Raimon Castellvi, "the sixteen participating wineries made available to the public their wine crops that are currently in market".   Touristic promotion Taste Porrera 2009 added to the various celebrations that are made during the DOC Priorat wines to spread the in different villages. Recently it has been made a Wine Festival Vintage (last September) and the Night of Wine Torroja (last August). These popular celebrations are a chance to know the traits themselves of Wine of the localities of the DOQ Priorat. The authenticity of the DOC wines of Priorat is one of the most recognized by experts around the world in this respect. The Control Board of DOQ Priorat has recently approved the new zoning of the designation of origin with 12 different directions that will allow producers to indicate the town provenance of their wine with the words "wine of the village" just behind the village's name. This indication will recognize the efforts of local producers to ensure the fidelity of wine regions of origin. The DOQ Priorat in Catalonia is the only recognized as one of the qualified only two that exist in Spain, according to quality requirements and production systems that are still in the area of wine.
