Satisfaction in Salou for the granting of license to the Hard Rock complex

The authorization granted by the Government of Catalonia to the leisure complex Hard Rock Entertainment World, which will be built in the CRT area, in Salou and Vila-seca, has provoked the joy of Mayor Pere Granados. "We had been waiting for the award of this tourist macroproject for a long time," he said with satisfaction. The Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya published today the approval for the installation and operation of the new leisure complex. Another aspect that is fundamental for the mayor is the creation of the jobs that this project represents and the improvement in infrastructures that this complex represents for the municipality. "We have worked hard from the City Council, and also personally, because Hard Rock was implanted and now we are just waiting for them to submit the construction licenses that will be authorized from the CRT." Granados finally, stressed that the project is in full harmony with the tourist model of Salou and the territory.

From 700 to 2.000 million investment and 2.000 jobs

The commercial name of the casino will be "Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tarragona, Spain", as it appears in the official gazette of the Generalitat and soon the details of the new project will be announced. The US company plans to make an initial investment of about 700 million euros which includes the acquisition of land, construction costs, financial expenses, the purchase of furniture and other infrastructure. Hard Rock also plans to hire 2,176 full-time workers, from the opening of the casino and in the first five years of operations.

The commercial name of the complex will be Hard Rock Entertainment World and it will have a casino: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tarragona. Hard Rock must request authorization to open and operate the casino three months before the end of the 3-year term, which is the time that the operator has to develop its architectural proposal, with the corresponding facilities and equipment. This term will begin when the conditions required to grant the municipal building licenses are met. This authorization to install and operate the casino "is non-transferable".

As reported by the company itself in a statement, this initial investment could reach up to 2,000 million euros when the project is fully developed and it is estimated that with the initial investment committed - of approximately 700 million euros - can achieve an economic impact for the demarcation of 1,300 million euros.
