Project for the integral renovation of five streets of the Carles Buigas area

Salou. Costa Dorada. 13 June 2018. The streets Falset, Penedès, Torremolinos, Ramon Llull and Roger de Llúria de Salou will be completely renovated soon, as can be seen from the project that the City Council has recently closed. The budget for the works amounts to 96,800 euros and the works will be extended over six months. These are improvements contemplated in the Municipal Action Plan to improve and fix different streets of the municipality, which are already being executed periodically. But, in the case of the cited routes, the intervention will include existing services.

With the drafting of this project, the City of Salou wants to carry out a series of interventions on public roads consisting of the arrangement and improvement of the urbanization of different streets of the municipality. The degradation of the pavement with the passage of time is a normal occurrence in any municipality of the characteristics of Salou, as well as the roots of some trees can accelerate the deterioration. This is what has happened in some of the streets, where both the sidewalks and the road need a performance to leave them in good working order.

The Town Planning Councilor, Marc Montagut, explained that "given the time elapsed since its construction, it is considered necessary to make an integral intervention that includes also renewing the water, electricity and drainage pipes services." Montagut added that "with this renovation we want to adapt the different streets and spaces to the new times and needs in order to have a renovated and functional tourist area". The project will be awarded shortly by a local government board, once the bid submission period has closed.
