More than 104,000 people have visited the offices of Tourism in Salou the first months of 2013

The Salou Tourist offices have received since the beginning of the year until October 31, a total of 104,219 visits ( 48,097 and 56,122 in Chalet Torremar and in Plaza Europa ) . These two sites belonging to the Network of Catalonia Tourist Office have treated 49,997 visits ( 24,149 to 25,848 Chalet Torremar and in Plaza Europa ) .

The Councillor for Tourism, Benet Presas, said during the presentation of the data : "the customer is very informed at all times of everything you can find in Salou , what the offer is as well as complementary alternatives for culture and leisure , one of the most demanded " . Also stressed : "We know that new technologies , web pages , blocks , recommendation sites on the net have proliferated and they subtract these visitors looking for information but there will always be people who prefer to deal directly with the person and we are here to welcome them in the best way we know. "

Prevalence of couples
Of the total number of cases handled in the two offices of Salou basically standout a profile of couples , representing 37 %, followed by families with 29.2 %, 26.6% individuals , groups 1 , 7% and 0.5 % for tourist guides .

As for the origin of visitors who visit the offices information , these are broken down as follows: local consultations ( Salou ) represent 3.3% of the total 9.4% of Catalonia , the other one 32.4 % and 54.9% from abroad . And specifically the Catalan tourism total percentage ( 9.4% ) maintains a distribution where 63.1 % comes from Barcelona , Lleida 12.7% , 12.6% and 11.6 Girona and Tarragona .

As for the origin of domestic tourists , there are significant variations from one year to another , and kept in the same proportion. Of the foreign tourists who have visited the offices of Tourism Salou ( 54.9 % ), the highest comes from queries of France ( 38.2 % of total), of Russia with 22.4 %, while in Britain the figure stands at 19.7% and the Netherlands at 5.2 %. Further consultations with the offices of international markets are Germany ( 3.3% ) , Belgium ( 2% ) and Ireland ( 1.7 % ) , among others.

Referring to the information requested , the main demands are to get a plane or to find a location ( 27.9 % ) ; to know what excursions can be made ( 24.9 %), activities and parties (11.7% ) ; transport (9.6%) ; recreational activities (6.7%) or to find PortAventura issues (3.2%) , among other priorities.

The offices have also received a total of 2,117 calls requesting information . Of these , 388 have been made ​​abroad , and 1,729 from the Spanish State . These queries are answered directly by phone or , if the person concerned so requests , respond in writing. Apart from calls , they have also received more than 600 requests in writing.
