Letter from the mayor of Salou to the citizenship before COVID 19

The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has published a letter addressed to all the citizens of the municipality to recall the actions taken by the council in the face of the effects of the pandemic due to the COVID 19 coronavirus.

In the same letter, he again recalls the need for all of us to follow the instructions of the health authorities, and dedicates an important section to thanking the commitment and work of all the people who are performing the different essential services, and to remembering the victims of the pandemic.

Finally, the mayor of Salou reserves a section for the future and points out that they are already working on the measures that will have to be taken to mitigate the negative effects of the pandemic in the socioeconomic field.

The full content of the letter is as follows:

Dear neighbors,

Since the advent of the 19-Covidien (coronavirus), habits and customs of our lives have been altered, restricted, and we had to make significant changes that become absolutely necessary if we want to deal with guarantees of success, both the containment of the virus, the risk of contagion.

From the city of Salou we got to the front to properly manage this crisis, because we understand that it is our responsibility and our obligation as public servants, the fact of giving a quick response to the demands and basic needs of our neighbors / is, according to what the situation requires.

From the moment he declared a state of alarm by the Central Government, the City of Salou also adopted a series of tax measures; cleaning, disinfection and urban sanitation; closure of facilities and municipal public facilities, parks and beaches; canceling planned activities; intensifying social care and creating a corps of volunteer humanitarian aid to help combat this state of emergency health care and health and needs of our neighbors, especially those groups most vulnerable and more at risk.

But this struggle we do and we win together; We need a common front against the crisis with social responsibility, in solidarity with the necessary respect and disciplined attitude towards health measures and recommendations; and to the orders and instructions of confinement and limitation of activity and mobility in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
