Tarragona celebrates the eleventh edition of the International Music Festival



Tarragona. Costa Dorada. Tarragona house from 1 to 10 July 2011 the eleventh edition of the International Music Festival. Organized by the School of Music and the Tarragona Provincial Festival arrives this year full of courses and concerts will be given by internationally renowned professionals. The event, after eleven years has established itself firmly, the city became a meeting point for students and music professionals from around the world and the scene of concerts and activities aimed both music professionals and the general public. It has been revealed to the press conference held this morning at the Provincial Conservatory of Music in Tarragona, during which the vice president of inter-institution, Vallvé Albert, director of the Center for Music Education, Marta Sardana; professor and coordinator of the Festival Jordi Massip, the director and creator of the show opening Laid Joseph and Xavier Bas, on behalf of Caixa Tarragona, explained that the new year will present this event. In this year, the festival will offer a total of 13 courses for instrumentalists, singers and composers. The task of teaching them are professionals Albert Attenelle (piano), Carles Trepat (Guitar), Ana Luisa Chova (vocals), Manu Mellaerts (trumpet), Will Sanders (horn), Simon Wills (trombone), Julia Gallego (flute). As for the rope, Kai Gleusteen (violin), Rivka Golani (viola) Leonid Gorokhov (cello) and Thomas Martin (double bass). In addition, the event will be attended by Charles and Markus Hechtle Augustine in the course of composition and analysis. Finally, the Ysaÿe Quartet, recognized as one of the most excellent quartets in the world, will offer a master-class chamber music. The concert series scheduled for the Festival will include performances by Albert Atennelle on 3 July, the Belgian Brass ensemble of metal, on July 5, the Ysaÿe Quartet, on July 7, and cello duet and piano Leonid Gorokhov and Larissa Gorokhova on 10 July. Likewise, 4, 6, 8 and 9 concerts taking place participants in the courses of the festival. For the third consecutive year, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Tarragona (JOSDT), composed of students from the conservatories of Tortosa, Reus and Tarragona will be responsible for opening the circuit, on 2 July. All concerts will take place in Tarragona, Catalonia Safety Auditorium (C / Pere Martell, 2) at 8 pm, and entry is free, limited al'aforament of the room. One of the main innovations of the eleventh edition of this musical event falls on the opening show: 'meditations and allegories of the water', a poetical proposal inspired by a work not written by Federico García Lorca mixing music, dance, acrobatics and lighting effects. The inaugural event will take place on July 2, at 10 pm, the Rusiñol Plaza (Plaza de las Coles). This year is expected to participate in the Festival more than 150 students from different parts of the Catalan territory, the rest of Spain and abroad, mainly from countries like England, Germany, Japan, Russia and Ukraine. During her speech, vice president of Tarragona, Albert Vallvé stressed "the importance and consistency of the festival," which over time has gained increasing level, mainly thanks "to the efforts and dedication of management and staff of the center. " In addition, the City Council has expressed its gratitude and CatalunyaCaixa (Caixa Tarragona), entities that collaborate in the realization of this initiative. Vallvé also wanted to show their appreciation to the sponsors of the event and a special form, the Association of Parents of the Conservatory. The director of the Conservatory, Marta Sardana, has revealed that over the ten years that the festival was held, was attended by over 1000 students, 150 in each edition. Sardana said that the festival "fully consolidated" and that the main objectives of the activity are to "bring students the expertise and prestige internationally recognized performers and teachers" and "integrate music in the city ".
