Tarragona. Costa Dorada. The Government has agreed to a proposal by the Minister of Culture and Media, Joan Manuel Tresserras, declared of national interest in heritage festival the festival of Sant Pere de Reus (traditional festival which was declared of national interest the 2001), the Fiestas de Santa Tecla de Tarragona (national interest since 1996) and of the Holy Burial Procession of Tarragona (traditional festival declared of national interest since 1999). The reclassification of these festivals is to bring his statement to the current rules, contained in Decree 389/2006 of 17 October, heritage holiday in Catalonia. The additional provision of the decree stipulates that the Ministry of Culture and Media has reviewed the statements of traditional festivals of national interest declared before the entry into force of the decree and reclassified them if appropriate. " Both the Easter Festival of Tarragona as Santa Tecla state also have the distinction of National Tourist Interest. Eventually, Xavier Sabaté stressed that the two cities have or will have centers of contemporary art from the first level.
