Salou. Costa Dorada. 1st May 2012. Mayor Pere Granados Salou, along with Xavier  Blasi, promoter Sports Complex Soccer Salou, accompanied by Chairman of the Council and the Government representative, have been commissioned to inaugurate the sports facilities that Porpoise company has built on 16 acres of land above the roadway Cavet. At the turn of the parliaments of Salou mayor, Pere Granados, stressed in his speech that "private investment is now essential to build and consolidate a specialized and diversified tourism product on offer, competitive and capable of creating wealth and of work ". The mayor gave as example the sports complex that's said is "a pioneering facility in Catalonia and the largest in Spain." He also added that such initiatives "can promote tourism markets and segments in Salou where the sport is the main holiday incentive and reason, and this positions us as a brand and specializes in sports tourism." Granados was a reminder that sports tourism is part of the strategies that worked in the government stating that "our commitment is to diversify and complement the range, offering new experiences to tourists and creating new added value, able to spread the season ". The mayor thanked the efforts of the Blasi family to go ahead with this project and stressed that his role was described as "an exemplary model of committed local company with diverse investments in Salou have always made clear its confidence in this town and its future potential. " In this regard, said that "the government must not only create conditions to facilitate investment but a state of confidence required." For his part, Xavier Blasi, thanked the efforts of all partners to make this project possible, and stressed "the willingness and involvement of the City with this commitment, which will be useful for generating dynamic sports and economic potential, and will cover a real demand. " The Government delegate, Quim Nin, added that "the future is a strategic and an example of private initiative that promotes the quality of the territory." For his part, chairman of the council, Josep Poblet, noted the great experience and boldness of the Blasi family saying that "a company that has based its work on the effort, quality and excellence ". After the speeches started a match between professional footballer, sports journalists and politicians of the world territory. Before the official opening, a series of games were played between teams of about 25 football clubs and schools in the area, with a participation of nearly 400 young people and children. Currently, there are six soccer fields built and operating in the 8 planned, plus a bar, changing rooms, a waiting area's, a room for training sessions and offices. Soon this area will be complemented with football and billiards room, plus a shop selling merchandise.
