PortAventura Foundation devotes IIa Solidarity Dinner at Banc dels Aliments de Tarragona

Vilaseca-Salou. Costa Dorada. Next Thursday, October 25, the Foundation held its 2nd PortAventura Solidarity Dinner with proceeds going to the purchase of staple foods to supply them Banc dels Aliments Comarques of Tarragona. Various personalities from business and politics of the Tarragona region have confirmed their attendance at this event to be held at La Cantina of PortAventura Park. During dinner raffle several prizes like trips plus many surprises. PortAventura Foundation project primarily addresses directly linked to the province of Tarragona and mainly aimed at children and young people at risk of exclusion. In this new edition of the Solidarity Foundation Dinner hopes to improve the collection last year, when it raised 56,224 euros to fund music therapy therapeutic project of the Provincial Association of Cerebral Palsy (APPC). This project has enabled us to treat more than 100 people affected, seeing very positive results in participants. This therapy results in improvements to the affected areas such as nonverbal communication, motor, respiratory, emotional expression, networking and self-esteem. The needs of Banc dels Aliments Aware of the increase in the population of people requiring food companies within our territory, PortAventura Foundation chooses to work with a project that will help people without resources the Banc dels Aliments stocked daily throughout the river. This is a project that aims to support the immediate needs of food and Banc dels Aliments the 200 charities that are responsible for distributing food. From collected a similar amount to last year, there would be enough resources to ensure the needs of Banc dels Aliments for four months. This initiative also aims to contribute to PortAventura awareness of this reality in our province. In the past year, and as a result of the crisis, has significantly increased the number of poor people in the area of ​​Tarragona. If in 2011 were 23,000 people receiving food aid, now, in mid-2012, this figure has already been surpassed. The Banc dels Aliments de les Comarques Tarragona The Banc dels Aliments de les Comarques of Tarragona (BACT) was founded in 1995 and is incorporated as a private foundation. To function with the help of 17 volunteers, retirees who bring their expertise in different professional fields in which they have served. In 2011 handled a total of 944,829 kg of food distributed among more than 200 charities, attending 23,000.
